Expression of Interest – Cadwork Operator
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my interest in any employment opportunities as a Cadwork Operator.
I have 25 years of experience in the CAD industry, based in Nelson, New Zealand, during which I have gained extensive experience working with a variety of 2D and 3D design software.
I began my career with Ansco Engineering Ltd, where I produced 2D drawings using DesignCAD. From there, I progressed into 3D modelling using SolidWorks and later IronCAD, where I was employed for nearly 20 years.
I then joined XLam New Zealand Ltd, where I began my journey with Cadwork. Over five years, I developed a strong understanding of the software and its capabilities, gaining valuable experience in both modelling and system development.
During my time at XLam, I took the initiative to develop and implement several improvements to the Cadwork system, including:
• Developing and implementing a cataloguing system to improve modelling efficiency and consistency.
• Creating 2D hatching systems for different CLT panel layups.
• Developing list settings for exporting various component and part lists directly from 3D models.
More recently, I joined Niwa Projects for four months, helping establish and set up their Cadwork system. Unfortunately, due to changes in the business, my time with them is coming to an end.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Cadwork at both XLam and Niwa Projects. I particularly enjoy finding ways to improve systems, develop more efficient workflows and make the most of what the software has to offer.
I am based in Nelson, New Zealand, but I am very open to remote working opportunities. With today's technology, I believe location doesn't need to be a barrier to working effectively with businesses throughout New Zealand or further afield. I am comfortable working independently, communicating with teams remotely and delivering quality work to meet project requirements.
I am now looking for an opportunity to continue developing my skills and put my experience to use within another business that uses, or is looking to implement, Cadwork.
